Friday Fun

You know what rounds out a pretty exciting week?  Getting to video chat with your baby bro from work! LZB has finally joined the 21st century of technology and they’re running some video conferencing. And naturally, I had to test it out as seen here:

IMG_5587You can barely see us both, but we’re there. Most of this call was laughing because I’m going to take full advantage to “pop-in” and say hello during the day.  I’m laughing at my computer just thinking about it. Next goal: family video chat.  It’s going to be epic. If you know us, it’s next level hilarious.

Also happening this week was the early arrival of my new niece, GM!  Which she is. She is definitely general manager of our family as of right now.  We are all in awe of a GIRL joining the family and we were also expecting her in about 2 weeks.  Thankfully she is perfect and was able to come home immediately so that we could start obsessing over her.  Her parents are champs and her dad will sue you if you even think about booking a date with her.  2045 is currently the year that may be considered.  We love you GM!!!

AND…because I think he may still be the only one reading this, happy belated birthday to my dad! Yesterday was his birthday and he was celebrated in style with all THREE of his grandchildren and his family. We are so so thankful for you dad. You have and continue to be such a great example for all of us. Love you!

Also upcoming, and I apologize because I feel like these are all things that I’ve been meaning to post, but just haven’t had the time.  I’d love to tell you about something exciting that I’ve been busy with that’s kept me from writing, but I’ve got nothing. I blame the heat.

So…as of August 14th, Husband and I are expanding the fam to include Miss Pearl!

IMG_5539Lola is going to have to warm up to her but look at that face…I don’t think it will take long. We are so excited and also a little freaked out and taking inventory of all of the items in our house that may or may not disappear in the near future. It sounds like we’re about to harbor a fugitive and not a puppy. Which is yet to be determined, I guess.

Other excitement from the week:  in a total rush to get to the office yesterday I dropped my Bobbi Brown eyeshadow palette on the bathroom tile floor.  As you can imagine, that didn’t go so well.  The result was me saying every word in the book that could make a sailor blush and a nice, thick coating of dark makeup in the white grout.  Let’s just say that Thursday had already won before I’d left the house.  This picture best describes my mood yesterday:

IMG_5584BUT…It’s Friday now!! We have zero plans so far this weekend which is so welcomed after a packed week.  We’re going to go hang out with Pearl on Sunday and hopefully a body of water will be in the plans somewhere in there. Have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend as much as I’m going to!

Friday fun!

It’s Friday!!!

You know what’s really fun though? Realizing you were so busy yesterday that you paid your mortgage twice instead of yours bills!
😁

Yeah, that happened. Try explaining that to every branch of your bank as you try to fix it.

“Hi! Yes, loving the house. Apparently we now get to stay for two more months! Bad news though: no AC or water.”

It’s always nice to be on friendly terms with your bankers…I just never thought they’d be my first phone call on a Friday morning.

Maybe next week they could swing by with a skinny vanilla latte or something? It’s the least they could do.

More to come today because I owe ya some updates. You’ll have to get in line though because I’m on day 2 of judging our company talent show.

That’s right folks! They can code AND have a host (get it?) of other talents!! 😉

Have a great Friday morning! And do yourself a favor and call your banker. They worry.

So It’s Thursday!!

Let’s back up a bit. Did everyone have a great 4th of July? I hope you did and I hope you filled up on all things American and still love this great country and all of the freedoms it provides. Because Ariana Grande doesn’t.  At least she didn’t when she was licking donuts over the weekend saying she hated America.

Girl. Come ON. There are so many things wrong with this scenario. Let’s start with you’re in a donut shop sneak-LICKING donuts on a tray. Hilarious. If you’re 4. Disgusting to all ages.

Then you watch the donut shop employee (who, let’s be honest is probably star-struck quickly followed by highly confused) take the tray of licked donuts away and replace them with something else that hasn’t been licked and you think it’s wasteful. Well….yeah…but if you hadn’t licked them someone could have eaten them. And we all know you aren’t going to be that someone. Sorry I’m not sorry that I can’t figure out how to feel bad for you in this situation. #hatersgonnahate

Also, is this the year of the donut or something? I’ve seen these pool floats literally everywhere and am just wondering if I’m out of the loop. I’m still trying to figure out how to use “on fleek” so I’ve got my hands full with that.

donutAfter the 4th, Husband and I went to the coast with his family for a few days.  We had a blast, got some good family time in, and enjoyed the gorgeous weather.  Plus, it’s always fun to take a road trip.  Especially one on which you make one of the most amazing mixes entitled “Summer 2015” like it’s actually Summer 2001 and N’Sync is still rockin’ your CD burner.  Only this was on my iPhone in the new Music app and none of my songs skip because of a bad internet bandwidth on Napster.

Go ahead. You can be jealous of “Summer 2015.” Or Summer 2001.

So after a few days out of the office and after the drive back, which did not get it’s own super mix, I found myself unpacking and feeling the Sunday Blues thinking about going back to work. Until one of life’s little blessings bestowed itself upon me. I realized that today was Thursday. NOT MONDAY!

Does that happen to anyone else? Let me tell you, it put some serious pep in my step today. And not just that, but I only have 2 days in the office before the weekend.  They don’t call me an event planner for nothing, y’all. I played this one exactly right.

So sadly, that’s the most excitement I’ve seen between today and yesterday. Essentially this post was written to touch base and acknowledge that Ariana Grande is in fact, not a smart pop star.  But her VH1 “Pop-up Video” would probably be amazing.

Now excuse me while I go You Tube some “TRL” and try to get back in mix-making mode.
